With All-Laser LASIK
LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) laser eye surgery corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism for clear vision and freedom from the confines of corrective eyewear. With the gift of LASIK, you can enjoy life’s greatest moments and countless simple pleasures — from waking up and seeing the clock clearly to taking a relaxing nap on the couch — without worrying about your glasses or contacts.
Dr. Ashraf and our team are pleased to offer all-laser LASIK, which exclusively uses state-of-the-art lasers to create the corneal flap and reshape the underlying tissue. All-laser LASIK with IntraLase technology is associated with better visual outcomes and shorter recovery times. Furthermore, all-laser LASIK makes it possible for candidates who were previously turned down for LASIK to safely and successfully undergo treatment.
Areas of Focus at The Atlanta Vision Eye Clinic
LASIK XTRA
LASIK XTRA is a special approach to LASIK that helps restore biomechanical integrity and strength to the cornea. Before the corneal flap is restored to its original position at the conclusion of the LASIK procedure, a combination of riboflavin drops and UVA illumination is applied to the cornea. This strengthens the bonds between the collagen fibers in the corneal tissue for a stronger cornea, longer lasting results and reduced risk of long-term vision changes. Patients who choose to undergo LASIK XTRA are also less likely to need touch-up or “enhancement” LASIK treatment later in life.
Zyoptix
Another way to enhance the results of the LASIK procedure is through the use of the Zyoptix system. This technology captures thousands of data points about your cornea to help our LASIK team personalize treatment to your unique eye. With Zyoptix, we can identify and treat small corneal imperfections for more precise treatment outcomes.
Dry Eye Treatment
Dr. Ashraf and our team provide much-needed relief from the uncomfortable symptoms of dry eye disease, including red, itchy or burning eyes. Using medications, lifestyle changes and a treatment called LipiFlow, our team can manage cases of aqueous dry eye and evaporative dry eye.
